Western Diamond Ranch Adventures

Activities on the Ranch

Here at the Western Diamond Ranch the list of activities is rather open ended as we focus on tailored experiences to make your ranch stay awesome; however here's a general list of activities to give you an idea of what we have to offer. Please note that some activities may be seasonal or limited.


Horses

  • Go horseback riding
  • Help "jingle" in the herd
  • Work with cattle horseback
  • Learn horsemanship fundamentals
  • Learn about caring for horses
  • Work with horses on the ground (in-hand exercises, obstacles, etc.)
  • Watch horse training demonstrations
  • Participate in horse training
  • Watch hoof trimming demonstrations

Cattle

  • Hand feed cattle
  • Pet cattle/calves
  • Learn about caring for cattle and low stress cattle management

Alpacas

  • Hand/bucket feed alpacas
  • Pet alpacas
  • Lead alpacas
  • Learn about alpaca care
  • Watch shearing demonstrations

Mountain Activities

  • Hiking
  • Sledding
  • Wildflower foraging (for floral arrangements)
  • Wildlife watching
  • Ranch & Nature photography

Tag-along and help with Ranch Projects

  • Fence fixing/building
  • Stacking hay
  • Cleaning corrals
  • Oiling and repairing horse tack (saddles, bridles, etc.)
  • Daily chores like feeding and watering critters; breaking ice in winter
  • Building and fixing sheds and shelters
  • Processing alpaca fiber 
  • Rotating pastures
  • Maintaining trails
  • Vegetation management
  • Water management
  • Gathering and stacking firewood
  • General ranch maintenance
  • + anything else that inevitably comes up

Activity Reservations and Rates

All ranch activities are booked directly through us. To reserve an activity, please contact us with the following details:

  • The activities you’re interested in
  • The ages and number of guests in your party
  • Your preferred dates

Please note: You do not need to book lodging with us to participate in paid ranch activities.


Horse Activities 

Groups: $50 per participant per hour

Individual: $75 per hour

30 minute group: $30 per participant

30 minute individual: $40

Lead-line Horse Rides: $25 per participant (20 minutes)

**Activity rates are for both riding and on-the-ground activities

Demonstrations

30 minute demo: $10/person

1 hour demo: $15/person

12 & under attend free

Livestock petting pen

Individual: $5

Family: $20

**20 minute session

Tag-a-Longs

1 hour session: $20/person

**for ages 12+
